Stephanie Hewitt

Steph is a highly experienced and skilled musculoskeletal (MSK) physiotherapist, treating all manner of joint and/or soft tissue complaints. From an underlying grumbling ache that has been niggling for some time, to an acute sporting injury, Steph has the skill set to help treat the complaint and identify and manage any underlying dysfunction.

Steph graduated from the University of Liverpool in 1998 with a BSc (Hons) in physiotherapy. She has since worked at the Royal Liverpool University Hospital, Stepping Hill Hospital and is currently one of the senior MSK clinicians at Whiston Hospital. She has, since 2008, worked alongside Sports Physiotherapy Specialist Lorna McCarthy in private practice at The Sandymount Physiotherapy Centre in St Helens, gaining a wealth of knowledge and experience in the treatment and management of sporting injuries, most notably rugby league, football, tennis and athletics.

Steph is currently well on the way to completing her MSc in Advanced Physiotherapy Practice, which has, amongst other things, involved expanding her specialist interest in upper limb complaints. As well as manual techniques, exercise therapy and prescription, Steph is also trained in acupuncture for pain relief.
